We have carefully re-created the famous Winchester Model 1897, 12 ga Trench Gun using original Winchester Model 1897 12 ga shotguns.  We buy decent used Winchester shotguns which are then totally torn down, cleaned, worn parts replaced, re-blued, reassembled and tested for proper function.  We add a nice reproduction bayonet lug/heat shield and rear sling swivel.  When finished these are an excellent representation of the original factory guns, ready for display or use.

These guns take the 1913/1917 bayonet used on the US Model 1917 Rifle and British P14.

CONVERTING YOUR PERSONAL 1897

This is the fastest way to get an 1897 Trench Gun conversion.  Send us your 1897 Winchester 12 Ga and we will do the full conversion starting at $999 (plus shipping), assuming the firearm is in good condition.  Includes repairs to wood cracks that are fixable.  Also repair/replacement of small parts except as noted below.  We will evaluate your shotgun and provide a full repair costs prior to conversion. Current lead time is 6 weeks.

BAYONETS

Trench guns only accept the 1913 British and 1917 US bayonets.  Most of the surplus bayonets you’ll find will have damage to the pommels from being used as a hammer etc.  If you purchase a trench gun from us and you send us your bayonet we will clean up the “T” slot in the pommel to fit correctly at no charge to you.  This service DOES NOT APPLY to the modern reproduction bayonets.  We don’t even offer to fit them, yes, they’re that bad.

4 ROW SHIELDS

Bull Creek Arms will now be supplying our WW2 type trench guns with an era correct 4 row heat shield.  The majority of WW2 trench guns came with 4 row shields.  These are built using the same high quality castings that the current WW1 6 row shields are built.  All WW2 type takedown frame 1897’s and Model 12 trench guns will automatically come with the new 4 row shields.  All WW1 type solid frame 1897’s will come with the correct 6 row shields.  We can supply completed shotguns, or you can send in your personal shotgun for conversion.  If you have a specific shield preference, regardless of type of gun, simply let us know at the time of order.
